through exploration of human relationships. But more importantly our mission is
also to have fun!

South Houston/Gulf Coast area his permanent home. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and has

Studios NYC. Lanier works in the Industrial field as an inside salesman and lives in
Friendswood.
Marci VanDerKarr is Executive Director for Café 21 theatre. For Café 21 Theatre she designs
and manages “behind-the-scenes” aspects not seen by our audience. She also performs
and has been seen here for our theatre at Franca’s as Janice in Italian American
Reconciliation, as Fannie in For Marrieds Only, Maude Mix in Coupla White Chicks Sitting
around Talking, as Bobbi Michelle in Last of the Red Hot Lovers and as Janice in Italian
American Reconciliation. She performs for other theatres as well. Most recently she was
seen at Clear Creek Country Theatre as Holly Burrell in Foxfire.
Marci was born in Indiana but has called several places home in the United States and
Europe. She has lived in the Houston area for several years and considers this her
permanent home. She works in the Investment Management industry and is currently
extending her education. Marci lives in Clear Lake City.
Marci and Lanier joined forces in 2003 and decided to bring their passion of theatre to the
community around them and formed Cafe 21 Theatre. Their hope is one day to have a venue
of their own. Currently they are very happy with their extended family at Franca's and would
like to thank them for the opportunity to bring dinner theatre to the Clear Lake area
